It’s been almost eight years since the Rosewood drama wrapped up, but the Pretty Little Liars crew is giving fans a reason to get excited again. With the show hitting its 15th anniversary since premiering on June 8, 2010, the original cast and creator, I. Marlene King are dropping hints about a possible comeback, and it’s got everyone buzzing about seeing Aria, Spencer, Hanna, Emily, and Alison back in action.
The idea of a reunion has been floating around for a while, and the cast is sounding more into it lately. Troian Bellisario, who brought the brainy Spencer Hastings to life, recently chatted with The Hollywood Reporter and suggested a movie might be the way to go. “It’d have to be a film—another full season might be too much,” she said, adding that it feels like the perfect time to check in on the Liars after all these years. Sasha Pieterse, the queen bee Alison DiLaurentis, is on board too, telling the same outlet she’s “always open” to a reunion and curious about where her character’s at now.
Lucy Hale, our beloved Aria Montgomery, is just as pumped, saying she’d “jump back in a heartbeat” during a recent interview. She’s still tight with co-stars like Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson, and the rest, even keeping those group chats alive. Mitchell, who played the sweet Emily Fields, told THR she’d only return if the whole gang was in, and with everyone seeming game, that might actually happen. Creator I. Marlene King is also intrigued, hinting to the press that a movie or short series could work if the story feels right. “I’d love to see what they’re up to now, but it’s all about the script,” she said, keeping the door cracked open.
The show, based on Sara Shepard’s books, ended in 2017 after seven seasons and 160 episodes, leaving behind a trail of twists and tight-knit friendships. Spinoffs like Ravenswood, The Perfectionists, and Original Sin have tried to keep the vibe going, but they haven’t quite hit the same spot. The cast’s little get-togethers—virtual ones during the pandemic and some in-person catch-ups—show their bond is still strong, especially with those matching tattoos from 2016 as a forever memento.
Fans are already dreaming up ideas. Maybe a new “A” will stir up trouble for the now-grown Liars? Or it could just be a fun catch-up, seeing them as parents or pros. With the 15-year mark landing in 2025, the timing feels spot-on, though nothing’s set in stone yet. For now, the cast’s excitement is keeping the hope alive—proof that in Rosewood, some mysteries are worth revisiting.
